I decided with the forever rising costs that taking four dogs to Cruft 2020 was getting harder to maintain with Entry Fees, Catalogue, Car Parking, Lunches, Coffee, Tea and Cake! It was not easy for me taking four dogs without help and asking people to spare a day out with me getting up at 2.30 in the morning and leaving here at 4 o’clock. (Yes, a very early start to get to the NEC Birmingham). As Veteran Classes starts at 8 o’clock sharp! Beagle Classes are on average (300-320 dogs for one person to go over). Then I have to consider the other two dogs being left behind to be looked after.
So hence, I only entered Prince Zaphar & Countess Crystal to represent the Triecap Beagle Team. < Remembering all of my Triecap Beagles are Cruft Qualified to have entered 2020 > .
Prince Zaphar was entered in the Veteran Class, he glided around the green carpet giving a brilliant performance for the very last time. Many of you don’t know but Prince Zaphar at the beginning of the year had a Mass Mass Tumour taken out of this front right leg just below the elbow. It turns out to be the very worst cancer for a dog to have. (As I had already entered him just before Christmas – I thought if this boy was not up to it, I would not go!) He proved me wrong on the day he was full of life. (Although my vet told me to keep an eye out for any signs of the cancer coming back). Prince Zaphar pulled out all the stops and was given the nod to join the line up in front of the Judge and being awarded a Reverse ~ I was delighted.
