My Loving Husband Michael
Michael John Jacklin 13.04.1949 – 21.06.2013
My wonderful husband Michael John Jacklin, sadly passed away on 21st June 2013 aged 64, after a twenty one month brave battle against cancer. Michael was a co-founder in the year 2000 of our well established affix ‘Triecap Beagles’. Michael’s introduction to Beagles came some thirty years earlier in 1970 when we met and fell in love. Together we would walk for hours with my two year old Beagle Argentius Trigo and we began a long and ever-lasting love for each other and the beginning of Michael’s affection of Beagles. From his early days when we met, and in the decades that past, Michael’s interest in Beagles grew, and the result of this was the introduction to the family of Chester in the fall of October 2000. With our new family member, the ‘Triecap Beagles’ affix was born and introduced to the Beagle world, and the rest they say is history. Michael and I from that day forth then dedicated our lives to our beloved Beagles and in the coming years yearning for our own true ‘Triecap’ affix line, and in July 2013 Queen Ruby was born. Although Michael had left us just a month earlier, I knew that he was looking down with that smile on his face, proud in the fact that our hard work and dedication had finally paid off.
Michael and I would travel the length and the breadth of the country together to each and every show, during the good times and the bad, but above all, our determination never wavered as our success grew each year. On Championship Show days we would yearn for that element of surprise and elation when our own beloved hound is chosen, seemingly against all our previous expectations held of the specific event – that’s the encouragement that inspired Michael & I to continue resolutely with showing campaigns. Our passion grew and captivated by the UK Beagle culture, charm, camaraderie and the ongoing debate and diversity of opinion as to what constitutes a winning show hound. Michael and I would create great friendships around the country, offering advice and occasionally a shoulder to cry on.
